The fifth instalment of the 2026 GP Webinar Series from St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS) will focus on the use of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) in adolescents.
Registrars on the adolescent team here at SPMHS, Dr Shianna Williams and Dr Radwa Ali, will present on the topic of use of SSRIs in adolescents on Tuesday, 20 October at 7pm.
Dr Aileen Murtagh, Assistant Medical Director with Special Responsibility for Adolescent Mental Health Services and Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in our Willow Grove Adolescent Unit, will chair the session.
This hour-long webinar will cover the following topics:
- prescribing SSRIs in adolescents
- side-effects of SSRIs
- practical considerations.
This webinar will cover consent, licensing, side-effects and practical considerations for SSRI use in the adolescent population.
GPs can submit their questions in advance by emailing communications@stpatricks.ie or during the webinar using the Q&A function on Zoom.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points will be sought for this event. Points available will be confirmed closer to the time of the event.
