Our fifth annual Self-Harm Awareness Conference 2020, in partnership with Pieta, took place on Friday, 28 February in St Patrick's University Hospital, aiming to increase awareness and understanding around self-harm.
While screenwriter and best-selling children’s author Dave Rudden joined us a special guest speaker to explore his personal experience of self-harm, other presenters and contributors included:
- Dr Caroline Clements, Project Manager of the Manchester Self-Harm Project and Research Associate at the Division of Psychology and Mental Health at the University of Manchester
- Dr Colman Noctor, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist at St Patrick's
- Dr Anne Jeffers, Consultant Psychiatrist and National Clinical Lead for the Health Service Executive (HSE) National Clinical Care Programme for people presenting to emergency departments following self-harm
- Leigh Kenny of Pieta
- Patrick Nevin and Alan Kavanagh of the Tallaght Travellers Community Development Project.
