Number of Dean Clinics relocating to Dublin 8 campus

The nationwide Dean Clinic network provides outpatient care for a range of mental health difficulties for adolescents and adults. In the coming weeks, several clinic locations will move to Dublin 8.

From Tuesday, 6 April, Dean Clinic services for adolescents, currently based in Lucan and Sandyford, led by Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Paddy Power, will relocate to the Dean Clinic St Patrick’s, in the grounds of St Patrick's University Hospital (SPUH), Dublin 8.

The Dean Clinic Sandyford (Adolescent) will also be relocating to the Emmet Centre in SPUH, and will become the Adolescent Dean Clinic at SPUH.

There will be no changes to service users’ clinicians or to their access to the services provided by the Dean Clinic following the relocation.

Due to the ongoing pandemic and public restrictions, clinic appointments and services continue to be offered remotely.  Therefore, all upcoming appointments will not be impacted by the relocation as the date, time and mode (video or phone) for all booked appointments are unchanged. Service users will continue to receive their reminder text 72 hours in advance of their appointment.

The clinics’ telephone numbers remain the same until Friday, 2 April. However, please note that from Tuesday, 6 April, both the Dean Clinic St Patrick's and Adolescent Dean Clinic at SPUH can be contacted by phoning 01 249 3590.

The referral processes for the Dean Clinics have not changed as a result of the relocations. Please see here for information on how to make a referral or contact our Referral and Admissions Service on 01 249 3635.

Please note, we use Healthmail as the primary method of communication with GPs regarding patients they have referred to our services. Please ensure you refer to your Healthmail for any correspondence directly relating to patients.
