GP Webinar: Assessment and management of ADHD in children and adolescents

GP Webinar Series: A family doctor views content on their laptop while taking notes in a notebook

St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS) is hosting a GP Webinar on the assessment and management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents.

Taking place from 7pm on Wednesday, 6 March, this is first instalment of our 2024 GP Webinar Series.

During this hour-long webinar, Dr Sarah Buckley, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in our Dean Clinic Cork, will give an overview of ADHD in children and adolescents.

Dr Buckley will explore:

  • how ADHD is assessed
  • understandings of executive function
  • an overview of the medications used to treat ADHD
  • the link between Phenylketonuria (PKU) and ADHD.

This webinar is targeted towards GPs, and is not suitable for non-clinical audiences. It aims to provide GPs with helpful information on managing ADHD presentations in the surgery. It is also intended to give information on the link between ADHD and mental health and when to refer for specialist care.

GPs can submit their questions in advance by emailing communications@stpatricks.ie or during the webinar using the question function on Zoom.

One Continuous Professional Development (CPD) point from the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) is available for this event.

If you have any queries about or accessibility needs for attending this webinar, please email communications@stpatricks.ie.
