Reports released by the Mental Health Commission (MHC) from its 2025 inspections of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS) approved centres show full compliance across all services.
Established under the Mental Health Act 2001, the MHC is an independent body which promotes high standards and good practices in the delivery of mental health services in Ireland. It is responsible for inspecting and regulating all approved centres nationwide.
Our approved centres
SPMHS operates three approved centres:
- St Patrick’s University Hospital (SPUH)
- St Patrick’s Hospital Lucan
- Willow Grove Adolescent Unit which provides care for young people aged 12 to 17
The MHC carries out annual inspections of each centre.
100% compliance across all centres
In reports from the 2025 inspections, all three approved centres SPUH, St Patrick’s Hospital Lucan and Willow Grove Adolescent Unit were awarded compliance ratings of 100%, reflecting the continued commitment of SPMHS to maintaining the highest standards of care.
