St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS) is inviting service users, visitors and staff to vote in our 2025 Favourite Painting exhibition and competition. Favourite Painting is an annual initiative from our Art Committee.
A number of Ireland’s well-known art galleries are welcomed to submit an artwork to an exhibition which is shown in the Arts Space of St Patrick’s University Hospital (SPUH) and also shared online. Service users, visitors and staff can view the exhibition and vote for their favourite artwork, either at a ballot box in the Arts Space or through the online form below. The artwork with the highest number of votes is then added to our permanent art collection and displayed on our campus.
This year’s exhibition includes the 11 artworks below:
- Aerial Sky 2 Great Clouds Appeared by Michael Wann
- Sherkin Ferry by John Short
- Foxtrot by Serena Caufield
- Rainfall’s Tapestry by Leah Beggs
- The Day the Night Forgot by Louise Neiland
- Shadow of the Sun by Diarmuid Breen
- Floral Chorus May by Lucy Doyle
- Sublime, Beara by Dave West
- Golden Hour by Leonard Sexton
- The Hawthorn Holds Fast by Robert Russell
- Dunmanus Bay by Elke Thönnes
The artworks were submitted by Solomon Fine Art, Taylor Gallery, Doorway Gallery and Graphic Studio Gallery.
Voting closes on 21 September 2025, with the winner’s announcement and awards ceremony to follow in the weeks after this.
