Working with us gives you the opportunity to work across multiple programmes specialising in specific mental health difficulties, such as depression, eating disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addiction, older adult mental health, schizophrenia and psychosis, and many more. You will also work with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and have access to different roles including in inpatient, outpatient and day patient care; acute units; and remote care delivery.
We provide inpatient care through St Patrick’s University Hospital, St Patrick’s Hospitial Lucan (St Edmundsbury), and Willow Grove Adolescent Unit. We provide day programmes through our Wellness and Recovery Centre and community and outpatient care through our Dean Clinics. Additionally, service users can receive inpatient-level care in their own homes through our Homecare Service, along with remote access to all our services.
Our pay and remuneration packages are superior to other healthcare organisations, with a minimum starting salary of €45,466 with incremental rises. We also offer parental and paid study leave packages, as well as a flexible Defined Contribution (DC) Pension scheme and a comprehensive sick leave scheme, including income protection.

We provide a strong remuneration package with a minimum starting salary of €45,466 - which is Point 2 on our enhanced nurse salary scale - and pay increases for length of service.
Not only are all nurses starting with us are automatically paid in line with this enhanced nursing salary scale, but nurses with prior experience automatically move to a higher point on the scale; for example, if you have five years’ experience in nursing and were on the fifth point on the Health Service Executive (HSE) scale, you will start on the sixth point on the SPMHS enhanced nurse salary scale.

Nurses returning to work after a career break may need to renew their membership by completing the NMBI’s Return to Nursing practice courses, depending on the length of the career break if your registration has lapsed. We can help to facilitate this for suitable candidates.
