Preparing for inpatient or Homecare admissions

Here, you’ll find some helpful information if you are preparing to be admitted to adult inpatient or Homecare services in St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS).

We aim to make your admission to SPMHS as smooth and easy for you as possible. The date, time and location for your admission will be confirmed with you in advance by our Referrals and Assessments Service team.

We share more details from the links further below about the admission process, as well as on what you can expect from your care.

Whether you are being admitted to inpatient or Homecare services, please note that, during your admission, you will be asked to provide:

  • an up-to-date list of your medication (giving details of the medication you are taking, including its dosage and frequency)
  • your health insurer membership details, if they apply
  • any referral letters or documents from your GP or consultant.

Some other details of what to prepare will depend on whether you will be receiving care through our inpatient or Homecare services; you can find out more below.
