Honorary/ Elective Placements & Work Experience

Where possible, the organisation will facilitate honorary/elective placements. These placements do not establish an employment relationship. Rather they may provide an opportunity for individuals to gain insight into working in mental health and/or to fulfill academic requirements. Standard employment benefits, including remuneration, are not attached to honorary/elective contracts.

In addition, volunteers are welcomed in a number of areas throughout the organisation.

Honorary/elective placements are usually arranged by individuals seeking the placement directly with the department concerned. The required documentation is issued by Human Resources.

The organisation has established links with a number of agencies offering training/retraining to those looking for a career change. Work experience, essential to this training/retraining is provided by the organisation in certain areas. Application for work experience is through the training provider.
