The Memory Clinic Service at SPMHS is a specialist in-patient service designed to provide assessment, diagnosis, follow-up treatment and support for persons experiencing memory difficulties. Each assessment is conducted in a multi-disciplinary team approach lead by a Consultant Psychiatrist. Additional members of the team include a Neuropsychologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker.
Information and support is also available for the person’s family/caregiver.
A comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment will take place over a three day period and will be followed by an out-patient formal feedback meeting which will discuss both a diagnosis and options for treatment, ongoing information, education, support and advice about local support and care services.
