Building Recovery is a twelve week closed psychotherapy group programme.
Workshop 1: The first workshop introduces CBT as an evidence based treatment for depression. There is a focus on developing an awareness of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Mindfulness and acceptance approaches are also introduced.
Workshop 2: The group explores the difference between thoughts and feelings. Individuals are encouraged to reflect on how their thoughts and beliefs about a situation can considerably impact on their feelings and responses to the situation.
Workshop 3: Explores unhelpful thinking styles and their impact on depression. Individuals reflect upon their own unhelpful thinking patterns and their influence upon their feelings and emotions about certain situations.
Workshop 4: Focuses on challenging unhelpful thinking styles and their impact on depression.
Workshop 5: is an introduction to self- esteem and its impact on depression.
Workshop 6: is an introduction to cultivating compassion using Compassion Focused Therapy and the Compassionate Mind 3 Circle Model
Workshop 7: This workshop is about defining and exploring core beliefs and developing personal formulations.
Workshop 8: The development of rules and assumptions and the role they play in maintaining dysfunctional behaviour patterns is discussed at this workshop.
Workshop 9: Focuses on the development of a Compassion Focused Formulation.
Workshop 10: brings the Compassion Focused Formulation together with the Longitudinal Formulation created in week 7.
Workshop 11: Explores positive skills such as mindfulness and challenging core beliefs which may assist individuals in over-coming depressive symptoms in the future. Developing and building personal resources as a means of resilience.
Workshop 12: Focuses on relapse prevention.
